When talking about virtual and real worlds colliding together, its impossible not to talk about Hatsune Miku, the Japanese singing voice synthesiser. A fast growing global superstar with over 100,00 released songs and 1,000,000 created artworks its safe to say she’s a pretty big deal and is one of the most popular Vocaloid creations and the first to become a pop idol. But she is a completely fictional character a computerised phenomenon, everything about her was born on a computer. Created by Crypton Future Media, they had the idea to release Miku as “an android diva in the near-future world where songs are lost.” She is one of the biggest virtual presence in the world and even by calling her a “she” adds some weight to just how integrated into the real world she is, and believe me when i tell you she is everywhere, everything from music to film to being used in food and clothing adverts.
Oh and I forgot to tell you, she preforms as well, but as a massive hologram
And has her own music video’s.
