Smoke Trails

Photographing smoke trails really creates some amazing and magical photographs that catch your eye imidiatly and draws you into the magical essence of the photograph. It reminds me of something you’d see in a Tim Burton film with all the colours and the textures of the smoke. To photograph a smoke trail all you need is a joss stick or a candle, a black background and a light to illuminate the smoke on the background. To get a sucsessful smoke trail image the lighting is important because you need it to be light enough so you can use a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion of the smoke and get a clear photograph otherwise its just a blury images and there is no detail or texture to the image.
